How to Use a Ceramic Spray to Increase Gloss (The Right Way)

Ceramic sprays are one of the easiest ways to improve gloss and maintain your vehicle between washes.

When used correctly, they enhance surface smoothness, which improves how light reflects off the paint.

However, they are often misunderstood as a fix for deeper paint issues.

Ceramic sprays contain SiO₂-based ingredients and synthetic polymers that form a temporary layer on the surface.

This layer helps:

• improve gloss and clarity
• increase surface slickness
• enhance hydrophobic behaviour
• reduce contamination bonding

Gloss is created by light reflection.

Dry Application (Best Result)

• apply to a clean, dry surface
• use a microfibre applicator or towel
• spread evenly
• buff with a second towel

Wet Application (Faster Method)

• apply to a wet surface after washing
• rinse immediately

This is faster but gives slightly less gloss.
