Warranty period and coverage

This voluntary product warranty covers defects in OPTiX OP1-GQP Ceramic Coating that first appear within five years of the date it was originally applied in Australia by an OPTiX-certified applicator.

The warranty runs for one continuous five-year period from the original application date, subject to the aftercare and annual servicing requirements below.

What is included

For an approved claim, OPTiX will supply, at its expense, the quantity of replacement OP1-GQP coating reasonably required for the affected area to an OPTiX-certified applicator.

This voluntary warranty covers the replacement coating material for the affected area only.

OPTiX also covers delivery of that replacement coating to the certified applicator handling the claim.

What is excluded

This voluntary warranty covers the coating product. The vehicle, paintwork and any other surface to which the coating is applied are excluded from this voluntary cover.

The remedy under this voluntary warranty excludes the following costs.

  • Labour, inspection fees charged by an independent detailer, coating removal, washing, decontamination, machine polishing, paint correction, surface preparation and reapplication.

  • Repair, refinishing, repainting or replacement of paintwork, clear coat, panels, trim, glass, wheels or any other coated surface.

  • Repair of pre-existing defects, corrosion, paint deterioration, clear-coat failure, peeling paint or failure of a previously repaired or repainted surface.

  • Travel, vehicle transport, accommodation, vehicle hire, loss of use and other incidental expenses.

This voluntary warranty also excludes problems caused by the following circumstances.

  • Incorrect surface preparation, application or curing.

  • Neglect, improper washing or maintenance, or failure to complete the required annual detail and top-up services.

  • Machine polishing, buffing, sanding, abrasive cleaning or other work that removes or damages the coating.

  • Accident damage, stone chips, scratches, swirl marks, wash marks, abrasion and normal wear.

  • Bird droppings, insect residue, tree sap, water spotting, mineral deposits, chemical exposure, staining, etching and other external contamination.

  • Repairs, repainting or work on the coating by an applicator who is not OPTiX-certified.

These exclusions apply to this voluntary product warranty and are subject to the Australian Consumer Law provisions below.

Aftercare

Gently hand wash the vehicle using OPTiX Shampoo. Apply OPTiX Final Boost, OPTiX Ceramic Spray or OPTiX Fast Finish at least once every two months, following the directions on the label.

Arrange a paid annual detail and top-up service with an OPTiX-certified detailer throughout the warranty period. Annual servicing starts at $250. Confirm the price with your detailer before booking and retain your service receipts.

Keep the coated area free from machine polishing and buffing, and use an OPTiX-certified detailer for work on the coating.

Daily use can cause scratches, wash marks, staining and other surface defects. Where polishing or paint correction is required to restore the finish, the affected coating may need to be removed and reapplied. Those maintenance and appearance-restoration costs are excluded from this voluntary warranty.

How to make a claim

Contact the original applicator or send your claim directly to OPTiX by email or post using the details above.

Include your name and contact details, vehicle details, original application date, applicator’s name, a description of the affected area and when the issue first appeared. Include photographs if available.

Provide proof of purchase or a warranty certificate to verify the original application. A tax invoice, electronic warranty certificate or other reasonable purchase evidence identifying the application may be used. Also provide records of the annual services completed.

OPTiX may verify application and service records with the detailer and arrange an inspection of the affected area where reasonably necessary to assess the claim.

OPTiX will advise you of the outcome and arrange supply of the replacement coating if the claim is approved.

Claim expenses

OPTiX covers the replacement coating material and its delivery to the certified applicator for an approved claim.

You bear your own expenses in making a claim under this voluntary warranty, including travel, transport and independently arranged inspection costs, subject to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Contact OPTiX before incurring any expenses.
