Choosing an OPTiX Certified Detailer: questions to ask before booking
A useful coating booking starts with an honest conversation about the vehicle, the preparation and the expected outcome. Certification matters, but it should not replace clear questions about the exact service being quoted.
Confirm the installer is currently listed
Start with the live OPTiX Coating Installers page. Listings can change, so do not rely only on an old social post, certificate photograph or search result.
Describe the vehicle honestly
Tell the detailer the vehicle age, paint condition, known repairs, current protection and how it is stored and used. Share clear photographs if requested, but understand that an in-person inspection may reveal issues a photograph cannot show.
Questions worth asking
- What inspection is included before work begins?
- What washing, decontamination or paint correction is included in the quote?
- Which surfaces are included, and which are excluded?
- What working environment will be used for application and cure?
- What should I do before drop-off and after collection?
- What written service, care and warranty terms apply to this job?
- Who should I contact if contamination or damage occurs during early aftercare?
Clarify expectations before price
A quote can only be compared properly when the service scope is clear. A lower price may include less correction, fewer surfaces or different aftercare. Ask for the work to be described in writing and avoid assuming every vehicle needs the same preparation.
What certification does and does not mean
OPTiX certification identifies a current relationship and product-system pathway, but no directory listing can guarantee availability, price, turnaround, workmanship or a perfect result on every vehicle. The installer still needs to inspect the car, explain limitations and agree on the job with you.

Frequently asked questions
Does certification guarantee every result?
No. Vehicle condition, agreed preparation and ongoing care still matter. Discuss the exact service and written terms with the installer.
Should I ask for a quote first?
Yes, but provide enough information for a meaningful scope. The final quote may depend on an in-person inspection.
What information helps the installer?
Vehicle details, paint history, known repairs, current protection, storage, use and your realistic priorities all help.
