Your FMJ maintenance routine

  1. Gently hand wash your vehicle using OPTiX Shampoo. Rinse thoroughly and use clean wash equipment and soft microfibre towels.
  2. Apply one of the three recommended products below at least once every two months, following the directions on its label. You do not need to apply all three together.
  3. Arrange an annual top-up with an OPTiX-approved detailer.

Keep the coated area free from machine polishing and buffing. If the finish needs more than routine washing and maintenance, speak with your OPTiX-approved detailer before carrying out corrective work.

Which product should I choose?

Fast Finish: best for dark colours, show cars and daily drivers

Our go-to choice for dark-coloured vehicles, show cars and daily drivers. Choose Fast Finish when presentation matters and you want a straightforward wipe-on, wipe-off finishing step after washing. It helps tidy light marks and fingerprints and leaves a clean finish without powdery residue.

Ceramic Spray: for performance-focused owners

Choose Ceramic Spray if high performance is your priority and you are willing to take care with your application technique. It boosts gloss, slickness and water behaviour, but it is not the casual spray-and-go choice. Apply carefully, use a light mist and level the product evenly with a clean microfibre towel, following the label directions.

This is a temporary maintenance layer, not a replacement for your FMJ coating.

Final Boost: for the low-effort car owner

Prefer to spend less time on aftercare? Final Boost is our pick for the owner who wants a low-effort addition to their wash routine. Apply it while the vehicle is wet, rinse thoroughly and dry. It enhances gloss and water repellency while helping maintain existing protection.

Low effort does not mean no technique. Controlled application and thorough rinsing matter. Follow the label directions and work in manageable sections, especially in warm conditions.

Product application guide

How to use Fast Finish

  1. Start with a clean surface and a clean microfibre towel.
  2. Apply a fine mist to the surface or towel. Avoid soaking the towel.
  3. Wipe with one side, then flip to a dry side and wipe again to remove residue.

Use it as a finishing step after washing, not as a substitute for washing away dirt or grit.

How to use Ceramic Spray

  1. Wash, rinse and dry your vehicle.
  2. Lightly mist a section of the paintwork.
  3. Spread with a clean microfibre towel, then flip the towel and carefully level the remaining product for an even finish.

Technique matters: use a light application and check your finish as you work. For wet application, wash and rinse first, spray onto the wet surface and rinse off immediately. Always follow the current product label.

How to use Final Boost

  1. Wash and thoroughly rinse your vehicle. Leave the surface wet.
  2. Set the trigger to a fine mist and apply 1–5 sprays to each panel, following the label directions.
  3. Rinse thoroughly with clean water, then dry the vehicle.

Some technique is required even with this low-effort method. Work in the shade on cool panels where possible. If working in hot conditions, treat only 1–3 panels at a time and rinse before moving on.

Simple habits for better aftercare

  • Use clean, soft microfibre towels and change to a fresh towel when needed.
  • Follow the product label for quantities, suitable surfaces and application precautions.
  • Do not use a maintenance spray to disguise a problem that needs professional attention. Ask your approved detailer about persistent spotting, contamination or changes in the finish.
  • Keep up your regular home maintenance and annual professional top-up.
