Warranty period and coverage

This voluntary product warranty covers defects in OPTiX FMJ Graphene Coating that first appear within six years of the date it was originally applied in Australia by an OPTiX-approved applicator. It runs for one continuous six-year period from that date, with no renewal at year three.

For an approved claim, OPTiX will supply, at its expense, the quantity of replacement FMJ coating reasonably required for the affected area to an OPTiX-approved applicator. This voluntary warranty covers the replacement coating material only. It excludes labour, coating removal, surface preparation and reapplication, and any repair or replacement of the vehicle, paintwork or other surface to which the coating was applied.

Aftercare

Gently hand wash the vehicle using OPTiX Shampoo. Apply one of the following products at least once every two months, following the directions on the label: OPTiX Final Boost, OPTiX Ceramic Spray or OPTiX Fast Finish. Arrange an annual top-up with an OPTiX-approved detailer.

Keep the coated area free from machine polishing and buffing, and use an OPTiX-approved detailer for work on the coating. The voluntary warranty excludes problems caused by neglect, improper washing or maintenance, missed top-ups, polishing, buffing or work by an unapproved detailer. Stains, scratches, etching, wash marks and other marks from normal use or external causes are outside this voluntary cover.

How to make a claim

Contact the original applicator or send your claim directly to OPTiX by email or post using the details above. Include your name and contact details, the vehicle details, the date of application, the applicator’s name, and a description of the affected area and when the issue appeared. Include photos if available.

Provide proof of purchase or a warranty certificate to verify the original application. A tax invoice, an electronic warranty certificate, or other reasonable purchase evidence that identifies the application can be used. OPTiX may check the application and service records with the detailer and arrange an inspection of the affected area if needed. OPTiX will advise you of the outcome and arrange supply of the replacement coating if the claim is approved.

OPTiX covers the cost of the replacement coating and its delivery to the approved applicator. You bear your own expenses in making a claim under this voluntary warranty, such as travel to an inspection, subject to any rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.
