Graphene-Infused SiO₂ Ceramic Technology

FMJ is fundamentally an SiO₂-based ceramic coating, enhanced with reduced graphene oxide, also known as rGO.

The graphene component is used to support coating behaviour, consistency, slickness, and surface feel. We do not position FMJ with exaggerated graphene claims. Instead, FMJ is designed as a serious professional coating with a focus on strong bonding, gloss intensity, chemical resistance, and a tough cured finish.

FMJ is the thickest coating in the OPTiX Nano range.

It is designed to form a hard, tough shell over properly prepared surfaces while maintaining extreme slickness. This gives the paint a sharper finish, a smoother feel, and improved wash behaviour when maintained correctly.

FMJ is not an entry-level coating. It is best suited to professional installers and advanced users who understand surface preparation, application timing, curing conditions, and aftercare.

Designed for Every Day Paint Protection

FMJ is intended to work as part of a structured paint protection system, not as a short-term cosmetic enhancement.

It helps protect against environmental contamination, UV exposure, traffic film, chemical exposure, and general surface build-up. It also assists with reducing wash-related wear when the vehicle is cleaned using safe techniques.

However, FMJ does not make paint scratch-proof, stone-chip-proof, or maintenance-free. Like all ceramic and graphene coatings, it protects the surface but does not replace careful washing or physical impact protection.

For stone chips, heavier abrasion, or impact resistance beyond coating limits, paint protection film should be considered.

FMJ is compatible with correctly prepared modern OEM and refinished clear coats.

Application and Cure Behaviour

FMJ should be applied only to correctly prepared surfaces.

For best results, the vehicle should be washed, chemically decontaminated, clay decontaminated where required, machine polished or paint corrected, and wiped down with a suitable coating preparation product before application.

FMJ can be layered when applied correctly.

• Application temperature: under 30°C

• Working time: up to 3 minutes

• Recoat time: less than 2 hours

• Drive ready: within 1 hour

• Full cure: 3–7 days

Cure speed can vary depending on temperature, humidity, panel condition, coating thickness, and application environment.

Maintenance and Aftercare

Correct aftercare is critical to long-term coating performance.

FMJ should be maintained with safe washing methods and compatible products. Ongoing maintenance often has a greater influence on real-world coating performance than the coating itself.

Recommended aftercare:

• Wash with pH-neutral automotive shampoo

• Use clean microfiber wash media

• Avoid abrasive chemicals and aggressive wash tools

• Dry with soft, clean microfiber towels or forced air

• Remove bird droppings, insects, tree sap, and harsh contaminants quickly

• Use compatible maintenance products to support slickness and water behaviour

• Avoid harsh chemical exposure where possible

Poor washing can still create swirls, scratches, water spotting, and dullness over time, even on coated vehicles.

Realistic Expectations

FMJ provides strong surface protection, slickness, gloss, and chemical resistance, but it should be understood realistically.

It is a coating, not armour.

Daily-driven cars, work vehicles, 4WDs, and vehicles exposed to harsh conditions will still collect marks over time. Paint may still require machine polishing or paint correction in the future to reset the finish before re-coating.

The best result comes from proper preparation, controlled application, safe maintenance, and knowing when the paint is ready to be refined again.
