OPTiX OP1 V2

Japanese 2-Layer Ceramic Coating System

NOT CURRENTLY SOLD TO PUBLIC.

OPTiX OP1 V2 is a professional Japanese 2-layer ceramic coating system designed for high gloss, wet-look depth, hydrophobic behaviour, and easier ongoing maintenance.

Used in professional coating packages for around 8 years, OP1 V2 combines a hard ceramic base layer with a gloss-enhancing top coat to create a smooth, slick, and highly reflective finish on properly prepared automotive paint.

This product is not sold directly to the public. OP1 V2 is a professional-use coating system designed for controlled application by trained installers.

2-Layer Coating Technology

OP1 V2 is applied as a 2-layer ceramic coating system.

The first layer uses OPTiX OP888 as the ceramic/quartz base coat. This provides the harder foundation layer for the coating system.

The second layer uses OPTiX OP1 as the top coat. This layer is designed to improve gloss, slickness, hydrophobic behaviour, and colour depth.

Together, the two-layer system gives the paint a sharper, richer finish while helping make the vehicle easier to wash and maintain.

Why Choose OP1 V2?

OP1 V2 is suited to customers who want a proven professional coating system with strong visual impact and realistic paint protection.

It is a good choice for new cars, corrected used cars, weekend cars, and daily drivers where gloss, easier washing, and long-term surface protection are important.

For new cars, it helps protect the finish early before the paint is heavily exposed to washing, sun, road grime, water spotting, and contamination.

For used cars, it works best after proper paint correction, giving the paint a cleaner, glossier, and better-protected surface moving forward.

Coating Advice

We keep coating advice realistic.

Most daily-driven cars, work vehicles, 4WDs, and vehicles exposed to harsh conditions will still collect wash marks, fine scratches, water spotting, and general wear over time.

A ceramic coating helps protect the surface and makes maintenance easier, but it does not make paint scratch-proof, stone-chip-proof, or maintenance-free.

That is why, when the paint needs to look its best again, machine polishing or paint correction is often the correct way to reset the finish before applying a fresh coating.

For many vehicles, the best result is not simply choosing the coating that claims to last the longest. It is choosing the right coating, preparing the paint properly, applying the coating correctly, maintaining it safely, and knowing when the paint is ready to be refined again.

Professional Application

OP1 V2 should be applied only after correct preparation.

The vehicle should be washed, chemically decontaminated, clay decontaminated where required, inspected, machine polished or paint corrected, and wiped down with a suitable coating preparation solvent before application.

The OP888 base layer is applied first to create the ceramic foundation. OP1 is then applied as the gloss-enhancing top coat to improve slickness, water behaviour, and visual depth.

Application conditions, curing time, temperature, humidity, wipe-off timing, and final inspection all affect the finished result. This is why OP1 V2 is handled as a professional coating system rather than a DIY product. The biggest reason is streaks on black or darker colours that need experience to get right.

Is OP1 V2 Right for Your Vehicle?

OP1 V2 is a good option if you want a proven professional ceramic coating system with strong gloss, wet-look depth, easier washing, and realistic paint protection.

For the best result, the coating should be applied after proper preparation and paint correction where needed. This gives the coating the cleanest surface to bond to and gives the paint the best possible finish before protection is applied.
